Time To Say Goodbye

I’m ba-a-ack, at least for today. I have two computers, a MacAir and an iMac, and I guess I thought they lived forever. The jokes on me. I’m writing on my 11″ MacAir and I will be for awhile because my 27″ iMac is well on its way to the computer graveyard in the sky. But not before mocking me and causing extreme angst.

Today, I tried every trick in the book to get the iMac up and running, but I keep getting the blue screen of death. I’ve loved you, but I really resent your dying when I need you the most.

I will continue trying to get my revisions done on my MacAir, but that may be short-lived, too. The genius tech (Yes that is a position. She’s over the techs at the Apple store.) ran diagnostics on my computers to determine they are at the end of their life spans. My MacAir can barely run Scrivener, which I need to write.

All my problems began when I fell in love with the upgrade to Scrivener 3.0, so I bought it and realized I had to upgrade the MacOS in order to run it. Like most of us, the poor computers can only handle so much, so I have a stripped down version of the essentials on this laptop.

So, if you don’t hear from me next week, you can assume  down two computers. Now, to figure out how to buy a new one. Do you think a Go Fund Me page would work?

  1. Good luck, Anne! Computer problems drive me crazy. Hopefully the Apple store will have you up and running again soon. I suggest a bake sale??? Lemonade??

  2. Oh, uggh, that is horrible! There is not much more frustrating than being a writer without a computer. I will be sending you good thoughts as you try to figure this all out.
